Early Consistency with Mid-Race Challenges Colin started the Boulderthon strongly, maintaining a consistent pace under 6 minutes per mile through the first 5 miles, briefly peaking outstandingly in division placement at the 3rd mile. His fastest split was mile 3 at 5:54, where he soared to 1st in his division. By the 5th mile, Colin had achieved a steady split pace of 6:00. His position varied slightly within the top 15 overall, demonstrating competitiveness early on. From mile 6 onward, a gradual slowdown began. By mile 17, his pace increased over 7 minutes per mile, and his overall ranking dropped to 14th. The final miles demonstrated further difficulty, with mile 21 taking 15:20, impacting Colin's division placement significantly. Overall, he completed the marathon with a time of 3:29:24, maintaining a solid pace of 7:59 min/mile. Focusing on endurance for the latter half could be beneficial for future races.
