Consistent Start, Late Fade Brian Rosch displayed notable consistency in his initial marathon splits during the 2025 Boulderthon. Starting strong, with the first split at an 8:18 min/mile pace, Rosch accelerated to a 7:55 min/mile pace by mile 2. For the first half, his splits remained consistently around the 8:08 min/mile range, peaking his division placement at 5th place around mile 5. However, there was a noticeable decline in pace in the later miles, starting from mile 13 where the pace slowed to 9:29 min/mile and further decreased to 14:04 min/mile by mile 22. The race concluded with Rosch finishing at a 10:10 min/mile pace overall. While the drop in pace affected his ranking to 31st in his division, focusing on endurance training could maintain early race speed throughout. Maintaining a strong start is commendable, and enhancing late-race stamina can lead to a more evenly-paced performance.
