Consistent Start with Late Slowdown Marked the Race Charles demonstrated a strong and consistent start, maintaining an impressive steady pace for the first half of the Boulderthon Marathon. Notably consistent, his pace was around 9:10 min/mile up to mile 10, taking him through the first 10 miles with a stable pace and strategic performance supporting his position improvement from 981st to a high 633rd overall by mile 4. His swiftest mile recorded was mile 12 with a pace of 8:33 min/mile, showing his ability to push for speed when necessary. In the latter part of the marathon, Charles experienced a gradual slowdown. Particularly, the largest decrease in pace was observed between miles 18 and 21, where split times climbed from 10:06 min/mile to over 11:00 min/mile. Despite this slowdown, Charles managed to finish the marathon with an overall time of 4:19:25 and an average pace of 9:54 min/mile, securing 573rd in mens overall placement. Sustaining pace through the entire race duration could be a focus for future races.
