Consistent Start, Challenging Finish Monica maintained a steady pace over the marathon's early miles, with her initial five miles averaging just under 8:00 min/mile, hitting a notable peak as she ranked 4th in her division at mile 5. As the race progressed, her pace slightly tapered, especially in the later miles. At mile 20, her pace declined to 10:12 min/mile, leading to a finish time of 3:57:36 and an overall pace of 9:04 min/mile. Analyzing the splits, a consistent effort was evident through the halfway mark. However, the increasing split times from mile 17 onward indicate a strategic area to target for future gains. Despite the late struggle, Monica's position among her gender and age division demonstrates positive aspects of her performance. For future races, focusing on maintaining endurance in the final stages could bolster overall performance and help adapt better to the races concluding pace demands.
