Consistent Middle-Performance with Strong Early and Late Splits Sam Mello achieved a steady showing at the 2025 Boulderthon Marathon, completing the race in 3:50:14, with an average pace of 8:47 min/mile. Throughout the race, she maintained a strong performance, most notably in mile 2 with her fastest split at 7:49 min/mile. She reached her optimal overall placement at mile 5, positioned 151st, as well as moving into the top 30 for her gender and 8th in her division. A strategic strong showing in the latter miles before contention among peers, such as a re-strengthening in mile 24, helped Sam finish 13th in her division. Sam's pacing was commendable, with several sub-8:30 min/mile splits, particularly early in the race. Although the pace slowed slightly in the latter stages, she managed to regain control near the finish. Analyzing pacing consistency and strategizing on maintaining energy distribution could enhance her performance and combat slower miles that peaked at 10:01 min/mile in mile 22.
