Steady Start, Challenge in Later Miles Maddy began her race with a promising start. Through the initial 10 miles, she maintained a steady pace, often clocking between 7:50 and 7:54 minutes per mile. She demonstrated strong performance around the halfway mark, managing to improve her pace to an impressive 7:25 minutes per mile at mile 10. Through the first half of the race, Maddy displayed consistent pacing, moving up in her division standings momentarily, highlighting her resilience. In the latter part of the marathon, Maddy experienced a gradual slowdown. By mile 20, her pace dropped to 9:10 minutes per mile. This provided an opportunity for reflection on pacing strategies for future races. Although the final miles proved challenging, Maddy can take pride in her perseverance. Completing the race with a total time of 3:41:45, Maddy held a steady pace throughout the marathon and gained valuable experience to refine her training focus moving forward.
