Consistent Early Pace but Slowed in Later Stages Ethan Curnett showed a steady start at the 2025 Boulderthon Marathon, maintaining a consistent average pace under 11:30 min/mile for the first five miles. Highlights included a particularly strong performance on mile five with a split of 10:46. This early strategy had him positioned within the top 1000 overall for a couple of miles early in the race. His early positioning peaked at 970 overall, 667th among men, and 174th in his division (M20-24). However, as the race progressed, Ethan's pace decreased, particularly between miles 7 and 10, where his split times ranged from 12:27 to 28:12. By mile 21, his split pace had adjusted to over 19 minutes per mile. Despite the challenges faced in the latter stages of the race, Ethan completed the marathon with an overall time of 6:51:11, finishing 1988 out of 2678 participants.
