Splits opened 8:43, 8:35, 8:33; mile 4 reached 12:16, followed by the day’s quickest miles at 5–6 in 6:59 each. Midrace centered around 8:44–8:49. Miles 21–24 were 9:24–9:37, then a close of 8:48 and 8:46. Progressed through the field from 779th at mile 4 to 346th by mile 25. Coaching focus: smooth the early variability and aim for steadier 8:45–8:55 splits; use marathon-pace long runs and finish-fast segments (miles 18–24) to hold sub-9 late; practice controlled starts to keep the first 10K within target.
