Consistent Pace Leads to Strong Division Finish Samuel Jones completed the 2025 Breckenridge Road Marathon with an overall time of 4:33:40, maintaining an average pace of 10:26 min/mile. His consistent effort secured him an impressive 2nd place in the M40-49 division, out of a total of 88 participants overall. Starting strong, Samuel managed to improve his overall position within the initial stages, moving from 32nd to 24th place by mile 10. Notably, he held steady in the top 25 overall from mile 5 onward. Throughout the race, Samuel demonstrated consistent pacing. His splits ranged from an initial pace of 8:36 min/mile in the first mile to 11:50 min/mile by mile 26, showing typical marathon fatigue over the distance. Nevertheless, the endurance shown by not dropping significantly in placement in the latter stages is commendable. A focus on pacing and endurance runs could help in maintaining initial split paces for a longer period in future races.
