Strong Division Performance Despite Late Slowdown Dante Birckenstaedt, age 17 from Littleton, CO, delivered a strong performance at the 2025 Breckenridge Road Marathon by securing first place in the M15-19 division. He completed the 26.2 miles in a time of 4:18:16, with an average pace of 9:51 min/mile. Out of 88 participants, he ranked 14th overall and 9th among all male competitors. Dante maintained a consistent pace during the initial stages of the race, holding a steady pace around the 8:30 min/mile mark for the first half of the marathon. Notably, he stayed in the top 15 overall throughout. In the later stages, a noticeable deceleration occurred from mile 17 onwards, with splits increasing to over 11 min/mile and peaking at 12:24 min/mile during mile 24. Working on sustaining pace in the latter half could further improve future race results.
