Consistent Pace Secures Division Win Matthew Kyser maintained a steady pace throughout the 2025 Breckenridge Road Marathon, recording an official finish time of 4:19:27. Remarkably, he secured 1st place in the M40-49 division with an average pace of 9:54 min/mile. Notably, his split times show consistent pacing, with early miles ranging between 8:02 to 8:13 min/mile, indicating efficient energy conservation for the later stages. Though there was some slowdown in the latter segments, particularly in the splits from mile 13 to mile 25, where splits ranged from 9:43 to 11:44 min/mile, Matthew managed to recover effectively. His determination and consistent pacing allowed him to hold 10th place overall for the males and 15th place overall in a field of 88 participants. Moving forward, working on maintaining speed consistency in later miles could further enhance his overall race times, given his strong performance in the earlier miles.
