Consistent Pace, Strong Finish Tom Bitting completed the 2025 Breckenridge Road 10K Marathon with an impressive elapsed time of 40:34, achieving a steady pace of 6:32 minutes per mile. Crossing the finish line 7th overall, he secured 6th place in his gender and 2nd in his division for M40-49, showcasing a commendable performance among 229 participants. Notably, Tom improved consistently through the race, particularly after the 4-mile mark where his overall rank advanced from 9th to 7th, reflecting his strong endurance. Throughout the 10K event, Tom maintained a remarkable level of consistency with all splits under 6:45 min/mile. The initial mile split was the fastest at 6:13. Although there was a slight pace reduction after the first mile, the subsequent splits from miles 2 through 4 remained particularly steady and impressive, ranging from 6:31 to 6:45 min/mile. Focusing on equalizing the initial sprint with mid-race pacing could benefit the first-mile gap, leading to an even stronger performance in future races.
