Avery showcased a gradual improvement through each split, starting with a solid 6:35 min/mile and progressively accelerating to a remarkable 5:52 min/mile for the final mile. Throughout the race, Avery moved up significantly in rankings, leaping from 74th to 12th overall by the end. Notably, she excelled in her division, finishing 9th among competitors aged 20-29. Her consistent pacing strategy was a key factor, as each mile was faster than the previous, leading to her strong finish.
