Consistent Front-Runner with Strong Finish Ethan Hester showcased impressive tenacity in the 2025 Vacation Races | Bryce Canyon Ultras. Completing the 50-mile race in 10:20:47, he maintained a consistent pace of 12:41 min/mile, finishing 3rd overall and 2nd in his gender and division among 149 participants. Ethan began strong, leading the field early with a quick 9:25 for the first mile and excellent splits at Proctor Canyon and Mile 9.4 with paces of 10:12 and 11:48, respectively. Ethan demonstrated strength and endurance throughout the race, notably maintaining first place overall until around Mile 32. The pace slowed at Thunder 2 and Hillsdale, where splits were 16:19 and 15:06, respectively. Despite challenging sections towards Monster Mash with a split pace of 19:21, Ethan rallied, improving his pace to 11:06 by Mile 47. To enhance future performance, especially in later stages, maintaining mid-race pace consistency could be beneficial.
